Guys, you know I’ve been dreaming of traveling somewhere for a while now and guess what?! I am! My family is visiting Asia, and I’ve been hit.
By nostalgia.
Certain foods, the weather, and aromas are now tangible, no longer distant memories. Which I love! SO MUCH! For all you who haven’t been to southeast asia, I’m going to make a mighty list of things that you might find weird and that are totally normal here.
1. The light switches turn on by flipping down? Like, seriously? It makes no sense.
2. Geckos, Cicak cicak, lizards, whatever you call them, they here. THEY EVERYWHERE. Don’t be surprised if one scurries across the floor during dinner, or when you’re in bed, or over your feet when you’re in the bathroom.
3. Food. I could make an entire blog post about how different the food is. Sugar crackers, salted kacang, rice crackers (omg i could rant on these), and choco pies are the daily snacks. Meal time means tofu soup with mushroom bouquets, the classic chicken rice, frog legs, and nasi goreng. Here in Singapore, the food is so diverse, with Malay, Indian, Indonesian, Seafood, Chinese, and more dishes at every food court.
4. Nobody owns a dryer. You wash your clothes in a washing machine, and then hang them up to dry. It’s kind of self deprecating because it’s so humid, and the clothes take about an entire day to dry.
5. Rose gold cars are a thing. It’s amazing because they are everywhere.
Right, time for a photo dump:

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating time on this blog because I can’t upload my photographs…? I really just need to figure out what’s going on and then I’ll be posting like normal.
Until next time,
kita xx
